Autumn Book Haul

Wow! I'm back on this blog again, and just in time for blogmas! The festive season is now upon us and I though it would be good to kick it off with a final farewell to the Autumn season aka an extremely long book haul. I've been trying really hard to only buy two books a month, but as you can tell I went a little bit crazy last month and ended up buying 6 books! Whoops!

Anyways, all the books that are in red are ones I've read (see the play on words...) and all the ones in green are ones I still have to read, so you can see how balanced I've tried to keep it. Also, the ones in blue are the ones that my mum gave me (so at least it wasn't my money I was spending).

So yeah, I ended up collecting 16 books over 3 months which is honestly more than I thought I was going to end up with. I'm desperately trying to get my TBR under 300 books but at this point it seems to be a losing battle!

December Haul: all my Christmas goodies!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I'm back from my unofficial unplanned hiatus in which I had a breakdown about how much school work I have to do and then decided to ignore all of it in favour of watching the Shadowhunters TV series on Netflix. I promise you I am a functioning human being!

And what a better way o return than to talk about all the books that I got for Christmas and 100% don't have any time to read (but I'm going to read anyway because procrastination). This Christmas I got _ from various family members as well as a gorgeous record player which will probably make an appearance on my bookstagram at some point (casual self-promo, go follow musical books on Instagram).

Anyways...onto the books!


Rhett & Link's Book of Mythicality


I love Rhett and Link, and used to watch a Good Mythical Morning everyday before school. Now I'm more of a casual watcher but I still love all the content that they put and am so proud of everything that they have achieved together.

My family actually gives some presents on Christmas Eve, to keep up with our Austrian roots which I will admit that was a bad idea because I stayed up late into the night looking through this book!

Overall, I'm very happy with all the books I received this month, mainly due to the fact that I asked for them! I feel like my Christmas haul was quite diverse with books aimed at all different age groups and written in many different genres. There were a surprising amount of fantasy, considering I don't usually think of myself as a fantasy lover, but maybe that is a genre I will reach for more in 2019!

June Book Haul!

I finally reined in my book buying spree this month and only bought 4 books this whole month! Even better I read 10 books this month, so I'm cutting my TBR list down (very slowly!).

Countless by Karen Gregory

I honestly know nothing else about this book, but the concept sounds so different from anything else I've read.

I'm on a French-high right now (I just in love with everything French), and I adored If I stay so naturally I had to pick up this book. Also look at this cover!

One of us is lying by Karen M. McManus

Everyone has secrets, right?

If that doesn't get you excited I don't know what will. It has a Breakfast Club vibe, except  more mysterious. There are five different people who fit into the different cliques but are forced to go into detention together. Also the pages are blood red!

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J. K. Rowling

Everyone knows the plot so I won't put it here. These new editions are absolutely beautiful, and I love every single version. Of course I had to choose the Hufflepuff edition because of house pride! Another thing I loved was the  fact that there were three adjectives on the covers to describe each house.

I will mention that I got this Hufflepuff hardcover from Waitrose for only £7! ($9.22 | €8)

After buying these books I actually received 3 more books from my school library. These books were completely free but I'm still going to share them with you!

Sometimes you just need a guilty pleasure book to read whilst curled up under a warm blanket with a cup of tea. Due to the large amount of days I've had like this I've run out of books to read, so this is for my next treat-myself day.

As some of you may know I love historical fiction so when I found out my school was throwing this book out I knew I had to save it.
